Pope Day in Memphis, Tennessee

You can add Memphis, Tennessee to your list of cities celebrating Pope Day.

St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School has a variety of events scheduled. Our elementary school is having a Living Rosary on the front lawn of St. Dominic School at which time the children will be saying the Luminous Mysteries for the Pope’s special intentions.

Our Junior High will be watching the documentary on the Pope’s life entitled “Witness to Hope” which is based on the best-selling book with the same title.

Our sophomores will be attending a Votive Mass for the Pope while they are on their class retreat, and the remainder of the high school will gather for a prayer service on the back lawn of our campus.

All of our students will be given three prayer cards: one with the Luminous Mysteries, one commemorating the Pope’s 25th Anniversary, and one commemorating the beatification of Mother Theresa.

All religion classes will be saying a Novena for the Pope’s intentions beginning on October 8th and ending on Pope Day on October 16th.

A banner will be hung on the fence in front of our school announcing to all who drive by that on October 16th St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School will be celebrating the life and works of the Pope.

Finally, beginning on October 13th, all of our morning prayers that are done over the PA will be taken from the book “For the Children” which contains words of love and inspiration from His Holiness John Paul II.
